Shihan Chris Rowen, 6th dan has spent many years training in Japan and Okinawa since the early seventies. Having the great honour of studying directly under Master Gogen Yamaguchi for 3 years. Shihan Chris also had the great privilege of training under Eisuke Akamine, the only successor to Shinken Taira in Kobudo. In the eighties he set up a full time professional Dojo in the East West centre, England and held regular joint seminars with Gogen Yamaguchi himself.
Shihan Chris has written for many magazines and was at one time technical goju editor of 'Traditional karate'. He has produced many excellent National standard Kata competitors and was also an excellent Referee and Kata judge. Shihan Chris is also an expert of Shiatsu, a Shinto Buddhist Priest and speak's, read's and write's Japanese fluently. |
